BMI ny

Den mest udbredte metode til at udregne sin idealvægt, kaldes Body Mass Index – BMI.
Det var den belgiske matematiker L. A. J. Quetelt der fastlagde metoden, som har været i anvendelse siden midten af 50’erne. Metoden er nu godkendt af World Health Organisation (WHO). Dog skal man tage BMI-tabellen som værende vejledende, da den ikke tager højde for den enkeltes kropsbygning (knogler, fedtmasse, muskelmasse samt indhold af vand m.m.). Som hovedregel er metoden dog meget dækkende for de fleste.
